About S.T.A.R.
Experienced and innovative, we enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities. We have specific techniques that inspire success in all students, including physically impaired, emotionally impaired, ADD, ADHD, as well as those experiencing Autistic behaviors.
Additionally, we have worked with many high school juniors and seniors, and beginning college students, helping them achieve the education goals they need to excel at the college level. We concentrate on reading and study skills, addressing issues such as dyslexia and ADD, and building strong study and organizational habits.
Using music, manipulatives, and house hold items, we engage with our students, assessing their current abilities and using their interests to build advancing skills.
Additionally, the founder of Study with S.T.A.R. is a founding piano teacher in the Royal Conservatory of Music Exam Program, and can often be found accompanying soloists as well as performing as a piano soloist. We teach piano students of all ages, and have taught autistic, visually impaired, and hearing impaired students. We also tutor music theory and music history.

Credentials
The Founder of Study With S.T.A.R. holds a Master’s degree in Neuroscience, with an emphasis on Learning Styles. In addition they have earned a Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Secondary Education. Academically their work has been utilized in various published articles and curriculums. Founder received their musical training from The Royal Conservatory of Canada, and is a founding teacher of the Royal Conservatory of Music Exam Program. Their love for music, prestigious training, education, experience and personality put them in a unique position to relate to their students on an academic level; but also interpersonally.

Great tutor
My son really struggled with math, but the worst part was the dread and anxiety. He has some attention issues and really grappled with “math logic”. The founder of Study with S.T.A.R. was perfect. They not only calmly explained math to him, they also helped repair his confidence. This year, he is really getting it. It’s not his favorite subject, and he does still get anxious, but nowhere near the level, he had previously. Absolutely Amazing Tutor
The founder of Study with S.T.A.R. has been fabulous for my 13-year-old daughter who has ADHD and dyslexia. They help her with every class, except Spanish. Their knowledge of reading, writing, and math is astounding. I have a post-graduate degree and still can’t understand my daughter’s Algebra, nonetheless teach it to her. The founder of Study with S.T.A.R. will work ahead of the class in math. They will communicate with her teachers if needed. My daughter is getting A’s on all math tests this year! More importantly, The founder of Study with S.T.A.R. completely “gets” my daughter. They are very patient and my daughter really likes them. My daughter doesn’t need her Ritalin w/ the founder of Study with S.T.A.R.. Her other tutors had requested she take it. Amazing!
